Cooper Companies to Hold Special Stockholders' Meeting November 16LAKE FOREST, Calif., Sept. 27, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Cooper Companies, Inc. (NYSE:COO) said today that it has scheduled a special stockholders' meeting for the purpose of voting on the issuance of shares of Cooper's common stock in the merger with Ocular Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq:OCLR) on November 16, 2004 at the offices of J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, Second Floor Conference Center, 270 Park Avenue, New York, NY beginning at 10:00 a.m. (EST). Stockholders of record as of October 4, 2004 will be entitled to vote their shares at the special meeting.

In addition to approval of the issuance of shares by Cooper's stockholders, completion of the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including approval of the merger by Ocular's stockholders and expiration of the requisite waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.
